CrisisCommons and CrisisCamp brings together community and student volunteers with a collaborative vision to support post-earthquake Haiti, Chile, and develop open tools for the entire Crisis response community.

Join the community on Sunday, April 25th at the Phoenix Convention Center, in connection with the GITA conference, to meet and discuss disaster response technology, awareness and preparedness strategies, and humanitarian response efforts that can assist citizens, governments, and NGO's around the world.

Lend your hearts, hands, technology expertise and humanity to help citizens and organizations respond to crisis - the work has just begun!

The event will be hosted in the Metro Marche Food Court at the Phoenix Convention Center, North Building, (100 N. Third St., Phoenix)

About CrisisCamp GITA

Initially launched days after the January quake, this all volunteer global effort has spread throughout the world to dozens of cities and 6 Countries. Some newer groups are utilizing the technology created by early camps for Haiti and transferring those tools for Chilian recovery.

With CrisisCamp GITA being part of the Geospatial Infrastructure Solutions Conference we will have a large contingent of GIS experts to discuss the usage of remote imagery, LIDAR, surveying, and crowd-sourced data in support of crisis.

Can you research the internet, review and summarize information or enter codes/data? Can you write well or are you a web designer, programmer, coder or hacker?

Are you skilled or experienced with opensource software, wiki pages, iphone or twitter apps or RSS feeds?

Or are you like some of us that have the desire but lack the advanced technical skills?

We can use your help.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Techies and NON-Techies are Welcome.  We request that you bring a laptop (don't forget the power cord) and possibly a power strip with you - to share with others.

Be Part of this Global Initative from your own backyard.

Beyond just Geospatial technologies, anyone can help out. Additional skills needed include:
